The experience
Mayan Eden is an eco park and wildlife sanctuary in the hills near Coxen Hole. Its compact route makes it especially convenient for cruise visitors arriving at the Port of Roatan, while guests arriving at Isla Tropicale are collected privately and driven across the island.
A park guide leads you along rainforest trails and across a suspension bridge to see two-toed sloths, white-faced capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, parrots and other resident wildlife. A scenic lookout provides views over the surrounding hills and Caribbean coast.
Current wildlife protections permit guests to observe and photograph sloths, but not hold or carry them. Every encounter is directed by park staff, and animal behavior and visibility can vary naturally from day to day.
