The experience
The most complete way to experience Roatan in a single day. From the cruise terminal in Coxen Hole, your private driver-guide takes you east through local communities, past scenic viewpoints, and into the cultural heart of the island — covering 70–80% of Roatan by the time you return.
Your day begins with a wildlife visit at a trusted sanctuary — observe and photograph sloths, capuchin monkeys, macaws and toucans. Sloth handling is not permitted, a current wildlife protection rule enforced by the park.
Continue east to Punta Gorda, Roatan’s oldest Garifuna settlement, where you’ll learn about the community’s history, traditions, and way of life. Then on to Oak Ridge — a historic fishing village built on stilts over the water — for a boat ride through the mangrove channels, one of the island’s most distinctive natural environments.
On the return west, stop for locally made chocolate and tropical rum tastings, the Roatan sign and a panoramic viewpoint, before your guide delivers you to the cruise terminal with a comfortable buffer before all-aboard.
